May 2, 2026 and just a few updates on what “winning” means to the Republican Party and Donald Trump.
National average gas price just hit $4.35/gallon, while here in N.C. we went up to $4.19/gallon a week or so ago only to fall back to around $3.99 for a brief time. Prediction: We will reach $4.50/gallon by the end of May. The number one oil producer in the world and it will cost almost $90 to fill up my Ram Truck. Isn’t “winning” great?
The Iran war grinds on with no clear goal. It’s costing us billions to maintain this, we’re strangling the entire world economy (not just Iran) with the lack of oil, and everything we import will shortly show the effect of that. Never mind that since 90% of Iran’s oil went to China that we are simply begging the Chinese and the world’s largest Navy to get involved. So of course we need to increase the Pentagon budget to $1.5 trillion (> 40%), put money directly into the Trump family’s pocket all while saying we can’t afford health care.
Inflation just reached its highest point in almost 4 years and trust me, the oil impacts on that haven’t even rolled through the economy yet. Hold on for it to run right past 5% shortly. Meanwhile, not only Donald Trump but all kind of key Republican leaders like Mike Johnson, Steve Scalise, Ron Johnson think you Trump voters are absolute morons as they continue to lie directly to your face about cost. In the last week they have claimed inflation is down, gas prices are falling and beef is now cheaper. “Winning” means you are a sucker.
The war on free speech continues with pressure being applied to ABC and Disney to fire Jimmy Kimmel for making an admittedly bad (but protected by the first amendment) joke about Melania. This from the President who stated he was going to wipe out an entire civilization, and repeatedly refers to black women as “low IQ”. Nothing offensive about those comments right? You would think people might want to ask a question when you have Joe Rogan, Candace Owens, Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson all defending Kimmel’s right to say this if there might be an authoritarian at work. “Winning” means you can’t say what you think, only what Donald Trump tells you to say. Do any of you “KoolAid” drinkers out there realize that if the President can step on the 1st Amendment that the 2nd Amendment is at risk as well? He has already shown that protestors will not be tolerated, the first thing dictators do is to eliminate the ability of the public to disobey the government and disarming them is key.
The environment is a shambles and we are experiencing increasingly violent weather due to climate change. “Winning” means you members of the public like tornados, killer hail, flooding, hurricanes, critical drought conditions and the like. Oh by the way, we’ve disassembled FEMA and one of its key leaders believes he was teleported to Waffle House so don’t count on emergency relief. “Winning” means you are on your own.
“Winning” means if you are black, Hispanic or Native American you have no rights. The Supreme Hypocrites have pronounced America free of racial discrimination so Republicans are free to “whitewash” the elections by blatant gerrymandering. Meanwhile Trump continues to destroy Native Americans heritage on the border, in National Parks or Forests with mining and even by renaming Mt. Denali. Contributions from black, Hispanic, Native American in our military history continue to be erased by Brylcreem Pete and his “make the Armed Forces white again” crusade.
Tech billionaires and Oil and Gas companies continue to rip off the American consumer, avoid paying their fair share of taxes, buying politicians through lobbying, rewriting laws to absolve themselves of accountability for anything and swearing that AI is harmless and shouldn’t be controlled. “Winning” means you trust Mark Zuckerberg, Google, Exxon, BP, Chevron, Nvidia, Elon Musk and AI to “look out for you”, as opposed to line their own pockets and attempt to control the world. “Winning” is so easy when you’re naive isn’t it? Funny thing is, even Elon Musk thinks AI is dangerous but what does he know?
Meanwhile, while most Americans struggle to afford food, electricity, insurance of any kind, buying a new car or a new house, what is really important to “the King” and his merry enablers in Congress? Using taxpayer money to build ballrooms, grandiose arches to memorialize losing, putting Trump’s face on your passport, your cash, every building or monument in Washington D.C. and god knows what else. “Winning” means the only important thing is to praise and glorify the “Dear Leader” or wait, isn’t he Jesus at the last check? Putting a false prophet in front of our lord and savior for adoration is all about “winning”. No blaspheming there. After all, Christianity is what Donald says it is, not that pesky Pope guy.
Measles has run rampant over the last year in both Texas and South Carolina because “we don’t need no stinking vaccines” . Kids need to toughen up and get exposed to diseases we previously eradicated because a disproven conspiracy theory about autism won’t die. We have the stupidest Health and Human Services secretary ever, a man who eats roadkill, swims in sewage and says vitamins cure measles calling our health shots. “Winning” and family values mean we don’t care about children, whether it’s their childhood health, adequate nutrition in school lunches, having safe and secure schools to attend or even having a roof over their heads. People simply need to pull up their bootstraps like the rich do every day right?
“Winning” means we don’t mind killing American citizens when they protest immigration and deportation policies. After all, aren’t all immigrants rapists , drug dealers, fraud purveyors and secret Islamic terrorists? What”. You say ALL Americans are immigrants? Don’t pester me with facts, there are “good” immigrants (like any that are white from Scandinavia or South Africa) and then there are all the others. We don’t need any immigrants, after all, we have millions of unemployed 18-30 year old men of all colors playing video games that are simply clamoring to be fruit pickers, construction workers or factory assembly line workers right? They are longing for hard, physically exhausting work in less than ideal conditions for a barely livable wage. No need for any more foreign born doctors either, all the rural hospitals can clearly thrive without them. Besides, who sees a doctor today? “Winning” means you never see a doctor, just a PA or NP. Who needs medical school anyways?
Whew. “Winning” is just so exhausting. Hope all of you that voted for “winning” are happy, you got exactly what you asked for. Don’t whine about it when you go to the grocery store or when some relative or friend of yours is deported or you fill up your mega sized vehicle at the gas pump or can’t afford your health care anymore. That’s what makes us great right? We can’t afford anything but are required to smile about it and say thank you sir, please punish us some more! Oh and feel free to raid the coffers and line your pockets Donald, you deserve it. You are sooooo wonderful. And modest too. MAGA!
